Qualifying laps

Just finished our qualify lap with a time of 2 min 21sec.  Brakes are finally working.

Scrutineering problems

As we went into scrutineering yesterday we thought we would be good after our 2hr run on Thursday.   First problem we encountered after getting the car in the racetrack garage was the power tracker going out.  The power tracker converts and regulates the electricity coming in through the panels. We had an extra and replaced it.  Getting ready for our brake test our brake line has a failure and no one carries the parts in stock so 2 days later with some jerry rigging and 6 trips into town for parts we think we are good. Last problem was our electrical. We needed a lower amp fuse on our battery pack. One of the other teams saved the day and had one we could use.  It has been a very stressful 2 days, but we are solving problems together

Extra Capacity

Today we were working on adding a secondary battery pack in parallel with the first pack.  By adding a second 72V set we can double our capacity for a little more weight.

New Nose and Paint

This week we put aircraft fabric on the new nose and patched up the bottom.  Then the auto paint went on. The new nose is more of the bullet shape we were hoping for last year. It is more aerodynamic and less openings around the suspension.
